Jim is the owner and publisher of San Diego Magazine.
A native of Chicago, Jim holds a M.B.A. from Golden Gate University, San Francisco, and a B.S.B.A. from Valparaiso University, Indiana. A former Air Force pilot, he continues to fly and enjoys playing golf. He is past president of the City and Regional Magazine Association, the past Chairman of the Board of the San Diego International Sports Council, past Chairman of the Salvation Army Community Advisory Board Sierra Del Mar Division, and is active on the boards of many San Diego organizations.
Jim received the 2000 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of The Year Award for his turnaround of San Diego Magazine, and the 2007 Lifetime Achievement Award from the City & Regional Magazine Association.
